To all members of Labour International
Dear LI member,
You will shortly be receiving your ballot pack for
the LICC elections.
This ballot is being undertaken by post therefore a
timely response is required to ensure that your
votes are included in the count.
Packs are being sent out from Wednesday 4 March
2009. If you have not received your ballot pack
within two weeks of this date, please contact me
directly on
Melanie_onn@new.labour.org.uk
or by phone on 020 7783 1220.
The Committee will be a six person committee, of
which three must be women. It will be elected for a
two year term of office with a maximum of two
members to be elected from any one country.
Voting will be by a single round transferable
preferential vote. You should vote in order of
preference for the nominees on the ballot paper. The
candidate with the least first preference votes will
be eliminated and their votes redistributed on
second preferences (or in later rounds highest
preference still left in the ballot), and so on
until all candidates have been ranked in order.
Having established the order in which all nominees
have finished the highest six nominees, subject to
the overriding requirement for at least three women
being elected and no more than two members from any
one country being elected, will be deemed elected.
Further explanation of the voting process will be
provided with your ballot paper mailing.
The deadline for return of ballots will be
5pm on Tuesday 14 April.
